Front Desk volunteers answer phone calls, providing help and resource information on our different programs and services. They also check-in clients who reach The Center, and provide support for PRIDE shop sales and housekeeping. Shifts are usually 3-4 hours long, with up to 8 hours during special events. And we require volunteers to offer at least one shift every 60 days.
Participants will receive specialized training crisis/suicide de-escalation, as well as participating in meetings with a variety of topics. Enroll for the opportunity to become an HIV tester after 90 days of regular front desk volunteering. We also provide recognition for accomplishments and time, volunteer appreciation events, and 25% discount in PRIDE Shop.
For those who have completed a designated period of time on the front desk, new opportunities will open up. You will be able to help our Outreach events, become an HIV tester, or a career planning volunteer. Training will be provided for all this postings.
