Volunteers are the backbone of our organization

Learn all about our opportunities to promote and empower Orlando and Kissimmee’s LGBT+ community. Each volunteer is special in their own way and we have many opportunities such as front desk shifts, events, and so much more.
If you are 17 or older, don’t miss the opportunity to make a profound contribution to the Orlando and Kissimmee LGBT+ community, make friends and gain experience relevant to any career.

Discover the activities you can do as a volunteer.

Our Front Desk volunteer program is one of our basic opportunities. In order to participate, we require that you are at least 17 years old, comfortable with basic computer skills, are friendly to other people while retaining a professional demeanor.
Front Desk volunteers answer phone calls, providing help and resource information on our different programs and services. They also check-in clients who reach The Center, and provide support for PRIDE shop sales and housekeeping. Shifts are usually 3-4 hours long, with up to 8 hours during special events. And we require volunteers to offer at least one shift every 60 days.

Participants will receive specialized training crisis/suicide de-escalation, as well as participating in meetings with a variety of topics. Enroll for the opportunity to become an HIV tester after 90 days of regular front desk volunteering. We also provide recognition for accomplishments and time, volunteer appreciation events, and 25% discount in PRIDE Shop.
For those who have completed a designated period of time on the front desk, new opportunities will open up. You will be able to help our Outreach events, become an HIV tester, or a career planning volunteer. Training will be provided for all this postings.

  • I understand that the rental fee is per hour and agree to pay all fees prior to space usage.

  • I understand that I will be held financially responsible for any damage made to the facilities, appliances, furniture, or equipment.
  • I understand that I will be held responsible for the behavior of the group organization’s membership and its guests.
  • I understand that LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. may cancel the use of the facility if I or any persons in my group/organization do not comply with the user agreement and the guidelines.
