Historically, The Center Orlando has centered its efforts and resources on the vital work necessary to end the HIV epidemic by providing resources and linkage to care and prevention. To expand the health resources available to you, we have partnered with NPS Healthcare to offer vital STI testing on-site. For some time, The Center has absorbed the full cost of lab fees, provider visits and administrative costs to ensure our clients had access to regular screenings.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of our programs, we will no longer cover the lab fees associated with STI testing; however, we will continue to cover administrative fees. These cost sharing changes will take effect on Monday, May 4th 2026.

This adjustment is a strategic step toward our larger goal:

building a robust patient assistance fund that will allow us to fully cover the cost of HIV care and prevention for our uninsured clients in the future. By shifting our fiscal resources, we are investing in a healthcare model where no member of our community has to go without essential treatment due to financial barriers.

Consult the following frequently asked questions so that you can clarify doubts about the procedure.

Nope! All sexual health testing is walk-in only.

Upon visiting The Center Orlando Testing Center, please check in with the front desk and sign in on the tablet. You will also be asked to comply with the following requirements:

  • All clients must meet with The Center’s HIV Testing Counselor regardless of what testing services you are seeking
  • Valid Photo ID
  • Must be 13 years or older: no parent or guardian required
  • Recommended to be 3 days outside of menstruation for urine tests
  • Additional paperwork is required for STI testing provided by NPS Healthcare

The Center Orlando has not historically operated the STI testing services performed within our facility; these services have been provided through third-party partnerships. Through these collaborations, The Center has been able to facilitate free STI testing for our patrons without assuming the associated operational, administrative, and laboratory costs. While this model has expanded access, it has limited our ability to build and sustain a program that provides direct services and long-term operational support. Through our latest partnership, The Center will continue to provide space for collaborative, on-site services that aim to reduce barriers to accessing sexual health care, while also strengthening our ability to connect uninsured individuals to HIV prevention and care. During this transition, The Center has absorbed these costs to ensure there has been no disruption in services. Moving forward, The Center will be refocusing financial resources on the primary health services objective of Ending the HIV Epidemic, while continuing to support access to STI testing through trusted partners

General Information
  • I hereby enter into this contract with LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. for the use of and have fully read and understood all rules and regulations governing the use of the facility.
  • I understand that the rental fee is per hour and agree to pay all fees prior to space usage.
  • I understand that LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. does not offer refunds.
  • I understand that I will be held financially responsible for any damage made to the facilities, appliances, furniture, or equipment.
  • I understand that I will be held responsible for the behavior of the group organization’s membership and its guests.
  • I understand that LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. may cancel the use of the facility if I or any persons in my group/organization do not comply with the user agreement and the guidelines.
